Your Pet's Health is in Your Hands

WHAT IS ACUPRESSURE?
Acupressure is an ancient Chinese healing art that uses the fingers to press key points on the surface of the skin and thus stimulate the body's immune system to self heal. When stimulated these points relieve muscular tension and promote the release of endorphins - neurochemicals that relieve pain. Acupressure uses the same points and meridians (patterns of energy flow) as acupuncture, but instead of needles, treats with gentle, firm pressure of fingers and hands. With acupressure the client experiences no side effects from drugs, while experiencing a safe treatment. It is an excellent way to balance the body and maintain good health by reducing tension, increasing circulation and strengthening the body's resistance to illness.

Acupressure also increases the nutrient supply to muscles by promoting cellular exchange, while preventing the buildup of harmful fatigue products, metabolic wastes and lactic acid. Further, acupressure improves overall muscle tone and relieves painful muscle spasms. This process takes but a few minutes resulting in strengthening and revitalizing the status of the entire body including a feeling of emotional and mental well-being. These processes are explained in detail in LOVING HANDS.

The basic elements of animal acupressure are the same as for humans and can be used to treat acute as well as chronic problems in cats and dogs.
